POLAND 365 :: WEEKS 45 & 46

Image
Well alas, still more pictures have turned up missing (but what do you expect with me publishing this post that should have been posted over two months ago!) So, I'll share what we have...and hopefully will finish posting all our pictures finally from Poland 365 of 2016 in the coming days! November 11 - This is Independence day here in Poland as well as Sw. Marcin day in Poznań. The past couple years we have attended the Sw. Marcin day festivities in town and they are known for having a popular Polish treat (pictured here) called Rogale. It's tasty, as you can imagine!   Missing November 12 & 13 (the perfectionist side of me is bothered that I couldn't locate all these pictures!) November 14 - In addition to Karis attending school (and Isaac in preschool) in the Polish school nearby, we do a small amount of additional home school materials to help them stay on top of English studies.  November 15 - Jenny got a hair cut and color and it was really ...

October 28 - Our trip to Warsaw for some meetings allowed us a chance to also spend a little time exploring the city a little bit. Here is the main town square in Warsaw. Very lovely, but it was a very cold day! October 29 - More family time today, we chose to do something more kid friendly (but I think the adults had fun too!). We went to the science center and literally spent all day there, Olivia even got her nap in while we went to the space movie after lunch! We will totally go back sometime when we are in Warsaw if we can, this place was a huge hit for the whole family. October 30 - Church and meetings in the afternoon at one of the largest evangelical churches in Warsaw (and Poland possibly). It was a really neat experience to be able to worship with this group of people in Warsaw and even more cool to see and hear about all that God is doing in His church throughout their area! October 31 - So Halloween is not really a thing here in Poland (and to be honest we nev...

October 14-Showing Steve's parents around town. The Polish pottery store is always a place to see if you've never been to Poland. This hand painted pottery is beautiful and very unique. October 15-Bob did a lot of cooking for us while he was in town, and he even made a favorite Texas State Fair favorite to bring a little bit of the Lone Star State here to Poland, it was so cool. October 16  Another day that we either didn't take a picture  or deleted them before being uploaded! October 17 - We took some time off as a family to have some time with Steve's parents. One of those days, we headed off to the zoo. We had some good laughs that day (as we were the only people in the parking lot to begin the day and realized it's because it was freezing so why would people go to the zoo!) But one of the things that made us laugh as well, was this exhibit. Look closely...this is a bear and a dog. A therapy dog to be exact. So the entire exhibit consists of r...

September 30 - Jenny did a lot of exploring on her trip away to celebrate one of her best friend's birthday.  October 1 - Jenny and the girls she met up with stayed in a lot of neat places, this was a tiny little room/cabin and only stayed one night here. We were all very cozy in there together, you get the idea of the size by how close we are to one another and the walls. It was a fun experience :) October 2 - Jenny got a lot of selfie pics of Steve and the kids while she was away, this was one of those pictures Steve sent. Kids were happy to have the extra daddy time, but definitely missed having mama around! October 3 - Larinda's birthday lunch! So thankful for the opportunity to gather together with these ladies and celebrate Larinda turning 30. October 4 - This pretty much sums up Ireland in one picture ;) We saw a lot of castles during our time there.  October 5 - Jenny flew home and a few hours later Steve's parents flew into town to...

September 16 - Steve waiting at the train station here in Poznań awaiting the arrival of friends from the U.S. September 17 - Visiting a cathedral in Poznań, this is a very important part of Polish history - said to be where Poland began. September 18 - Our friends who came in town blessed us by caring for our kids one evening and told us to go out on a date! This was such a blessing to us and we were very grateful for the time alone together. September 19 - Tesco is one of our favorite places to shop here in Poland. We even have the option to order online and have it delivered to our home (which we usually take advantage of as it is very helpful to not have to cart 3 kids to the store). This was the first time I had actually gone into this particular store and it was like a small reminder of America in that it was a cross between a Target and Wal-Mart (if you can imagine that).   September 20 - Taking our guests to one of our favorite cafes in Poznań. This place ...
