Running to the Strong Tower

This has been a hard week for our family. We have endured sickness (4 times over), financial pressure, the ongoing process of raising support and keeping up with many hours of online missionary training.  As if that wasn't an exhausting list already, I just spent the last several hours in the emergency room with our youngest who fell down a flight of stairs. And about that... She is OK!  But we are tired. We are weary. We are emotionally drained. We are in need of good rest (as that has not been happening with several sickies here, myself included!) But I can't go on without saying that  we are thankful that the Lord has  sustained us through this hard week.  We aren't promised a life here on Earth without trouble, fear, doubt, persecution, pain, weariness or strife. Where is my HOME?

Where is my house? Where is my room? Why are we visiting so many people? What do you think it's like in Florida without us? I miss my friends. These are just a few of the questions and comments we have heard from the littlest Valentines this week. It seems that for some reason, this week they have become so much more aware of the many changes that have been taking place in our lives. All of the above questions and comments, make me tear up and force me to press into the One who can help guide me in beginning to answer them. We knew beginning this journey would not be "easy" and most definitely would not be "normal" (whatever normal is!). We knew that being a Missionary Kid (MK) would involve much transition and change. What I did not expect, was just how much my own heart would ache to have to not only walk through my own emotions in all this but to help my children navigate their emotions in this as well.
