POLAND 365 :: WEEKS 39 & 40


September 30 - Jenny did a lot of exploring on her trip away
to celebrate one of her best friend's birthday. 
October 1 - Jenny and the girls she met up with stayed in a lot of neat places,
this was a tiny little room/cabin and only stayed one night here. We were all
very cozy in there together, you get the idea of the size by how close we are
to one another and the walls. It was a fun experience :)
October 2 - Jenny got a lot of selfie pics of Steve and the
kids while she was away, this was one of those pictures
Steve sent. Kids were happy to have the extra daddy time,
but definitely missed having mama around!
October 3 - Larinda's birthday lunch! So thankful for the opportunity to gather
together with these ladies and celebrate Larinda turning 30.
October 4 - This pretty much sums up Ireland in one picture ;) We saw a lot
of castles during our time there. 
October 5 - Jenny flew home and a few hours later Steve's
parents flew into town too! The kids were so excited to see
their grandparents after having not seen them for over a year!
They are anxiously awaiting their arrival in this picture, looking
out our front window waiting to see daddy drive up with them
in the car!
October 6 - Olivia and Grandpa snuggles a reading books.
Let's just say this was probably the highlight of the trip
(snuggles with grandparents) for our kiddos!
October 7 - Our friend and language mentor met up with us
to give Steve's parents a short tour of parts of Poznań. It was
really fun to show our parents around so they could see a what
we have been seeing for the past year and a half!
October 8 - This is a bit blurry, but it's honestly the best picture I think we got
all month of the kids with their grammy and grandpa! Here they are in front of
the cathedral in Gniezno, one of the capitals of Poland.  
OCTOBER 9 - It was bound to happen again...we missed a picture this day (which I find hard to believe as we took so many pictures while Steve's parents were in town). But somehow there is no record of a picture that day on any of our phones or cameras! HAHA

October 10 - Olivia loved teasing and playing around with
her grandpa. These two were quite amusing to watch interact
together. She was always up to something (when is she not)
to tease grandpa...here she is trying to prevent him from
walking down the stairs. These two ≤3 
October 11 - Steve out to eat with his parents for some one on one time (or
one on two I guess). Bob took this picture while these two were in deep thought,
or discussion, either way I know it was a mutually enjoyed time out together.
October 12 - One of the highlights of their trip for our kids
was to sit and look at videos of their cousins (the other
grandkids) and see all the fun things that have taken place
back in America. They would watch some videos over
and over on grammy's iPad! 
October 13 - Double Date night out in Stary Rynek (old
market) in the center of town. Again it was fun to get away
for adult conversation not interrupted by three excited
kiddos and get to show them around town some more.

Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! I'm starting with this picture, because this little guy (left) pictured here with our son Isaac, I like to say is the reason we are having another baby, haha! Isaac has been smitten with this little one since he first held him as a baby two years ago and he began praying we would have another baby, specifically a boy! It's such a neat part of this story to me and I'm so thankful for our son's heart ( and friends who have cute kiddos!) This was taken right after we told the kids I was pregnant. Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor. I had a long list of nesting projects I had been slowly working on and was hoping to finish before Milo’s arrival.  Thursday morning rolled around, I realized I was beginning to show signs of possible labor nearing, but still wasn’t too alarmed just yet, after all...
