Tough and Tender : Isaac at 2 years old

Image
Isaac turned two on February 27 th .  Since his birthday falls around when I was expecting baby number three to arrive, we decided we didn’t want a large birthday party.  The thought of having tons of people in our home before a newborn would arrive was not preferable.  So we decided to have a small gathering with just a few friends at a playground.  The rain put a stop to that idea pretty quick and we ended up at Chick-fil-a instead for a couple hours.  Shout out to the Celebration Chick-Fil-A who gave little plush cows, balloons and ice cream to all of us, what what!  Seriously, we were so thankful for the way it turned out and Isaac had a blast playing with some of his favorite buddies.  It was a perfect celebration of our little man and despite the rain, all had a blast. ( Plus, I'm glad we decided to have the gathering on the day we did because little did we know that Olivia would arrive the following week! ) Isaac doesn’t eat sweets (except fo...

Belly pics : OLIVIA

Image
These pictures seem to be long overdue, but we took them just a week and half before Olivia was born and I never had time to post them!  Thanks to my sister in law, Lauren Valentine, for taking such adorable pictures of my pregnancy with Olivia.  There's also a couple cute shots she captured of Karis and Isaac too! This one may seem random, but I'm sitting under a "baby" Olive Tree. And since Olivia's name means Olive Tree, it seemed fitting!

Walking "MOMbie"

I saw someone post a picture of a coffee cup on Pinterest this week that said, "No coffee, No talkie" That pretty much sums up how I've felt at least 5 out of the 7 days this past week! And if you know me well, you know I'm not naturally a morning person so little sleep and waking early is especially challenging for me (my three year old even asked me the other day at the breakfast table why I was crabby, sigh!) Life is tiring right now. We have a TWO week old...a THREE year old and TWO year old. Did you just say to yourself, "wow you're a busy mom"? Because most people do say that! In fact when I was nearing the end of my pregnancy with Olivia and people would see me (my huge belly) with the other two tots in tow, people would often make that same comment...it always made me laugh when people would say that phrase to my face! I usually respond with, yes but a VERY blessed mama! Most of the days in the past two weeks I feel like a walking MOMbie...I'...

Her Name

Image
Well after a couple month blogging hiatus, I'm back!  I did write this post a couple months ago yet never posted it! A lot of people have asked how we chose Olivia's name, so without further delay, here is how we chose our baby girl's name... I don't know why, but it was much harder to come up with a name the third time around! All the names we had on our "list" before with previous pregnancies, we didn't really want to use, so we were back at square one. I had told Steve I didn't want to think of names until after we knew if it was a boy or a girl because I didn't have enough brain energy to think about two names (picking a boy and a girl name), ha!  So we found out on October 16th that we were expecting another girl.  Steve "knew" all along and at our 12 week ultrasound, the technician had made a gender guess of girl, so neither of us were really surprised.  Karis, from the moment we told her I was pregnant, wanted another baby brot...
