October 14-Showing Steve's parents around town. The Polish pottery store is always a place to see if you've never been to Poland. This hand painted pottery is beautiful and very unique. |
October 15-Bob did a lot of cooking for us while he was in town, and he even made a favorite Texas State Fair favorite to bring a little bit of the Lone Star State here to Poland, it was so cool. |
October 16
Another day that we either didn't take a picture
or deleted them before being uploaded!

October 17 - We took some time off as a family to have some time with Steve's parents. One of those days, we headed off to the zoo. We had some good laughs that day (as we were the only people in the parking lot to begin the day and realized it's because it was freezing so why would people go to the zoo!) But one of the things that made us laugh as well, was this exhibit. Look closely...this is a bear and a dog. A therapy dog to be exact. So the entire exhibit consists of rescued bears and this particular bear was given a therapy dog to help cope and have a playmate! It was fun to see these animals interact. |

October 18-We visited the bridge in Poznań that has locks all down the sides, that were placed there by couples. It was fun to read the dates and names and inscriptions of love notes on the locks. Very unique part of town. |
October 19-Doesn't everyone have family band playtime in the evenings? Our kids love to sing, dance and play music. This particular evening, they got creative with their instruments of choice and we all joined in and had a little worship session. |
October 20- Part of having parents in town means we got a little spoiled. Jeannine took Jenny out for pedicures and a special lunch as an early birthday celebration. Since Jenny will celebrate her birthday in December, Jeannine wanted to be able to do something fun together while she was in town and it was greatly appreciated! |
October 21-Today is Steve's birthday and we had a great day especially because his parents were here to celebrate with us. |
October 22-Steve doesn't like big parties or big deals made out of him, but Jenny does ;) So we compromised and gathered a few of his guy friends here in Poznań to come together for a meal. Many of these guys are people that Steve has had opportunity to invest into as a pastor here. Not only were they here to celebrate, Jenny invited his close guys from back in the States to "join" the party by sending their words of encouragement, and that was a huge surprise and blessing to Steve. Thankful for such neat men to walk this journey of life with both here and around the world! |
October 23-Olivia is a ham to say the least. She is the third born-enough said if any of you know a third born ;) She marches to the beat of her own drum and has us all laughing most of the time. We went a couple days to Berlin and as we walked around the Brandenburg gate she just turns around and strikes this pose...so of course, we had to snap a picture! |
October 24-Another fun treat for the kids (entire family actually) was a couple special days spent at Tropical Island. What a treat and we felt so excited to get to show our parents this exciting place. The kids would tell you that this is one of their favorite places (Olivia prays and thanks God for it most days) and as you can tell from this picture, the grandparents and grandkids had a blast together!

October 25-Steve with all three little fishies. If our kids miss anything about America, it's that they could swim almost year round...so this was definitely a treat for all of them! |
October 26-Back home from our few days away as a family and it was fun to come home to such a beautiful site! This is the tree in our front yard. It is beautiful to watch go from green to gold in the Fall, and even more fun to rake up and jump in the leaves as they begin to fall to the ground! |
October 27-Off for a work trip to Warsaw with the family in tow. We had a trip there to meet with several ministry leaders and our boss who was flying into town for meetings met us there too...more about this weekend trip in the next blog post! |
