POLAND 365 :: WEEKS 47 & 48

November 25 - Isaac's really good at making
some pretty good creations with his wooden
train tracks...he could do this for hours!
November 26 - Isaac and one of his favorite little buddies!
This baby boy is the younger brother of Olivia's best friend.
Isaac loves holding babies and begs to do it anytime there
is a little one around. He also plays this game at home,
taking care of baby. He's a little nurturer that's for sure.
November 27 - An International Thanksgiving Meal with the friends from
Poznań International Church. Since this is an American tradition, there were
only a few typical Thanksgiving dishes, and then whatever else people brought.
So we had a wide variety of food from many places in the world! It was quite
the spread of food and desserts. This is just a snap shot of part of the people
who participated in the lovely evening.  I will also say, this was my first
experience with getting violently ill in a foreign country...something I ate
apparently did not sit well with me and it was a rough few days following!
November 28 - Playing with Stickers. They got them from
Grammy in the mail...so naturally the kids had to get to
work right away making a fun Christmas collage with their
new stickers. We are always so thankful for thoughtful
gifts from family and friends back in the States!
November 29 - Our littlest TCK is exploring
her newly learned skill of using chopsticks
with her bowl of cereal! And just so you know
that is marker on her face and not a big red
scratch, let's just say she's in the "don't leave
her unattended with markers" phase!
November 30 - The first snow for the Winter. We enjoyed
watching the big snowflakes fall from the kids window
(which looks down over our back yard).
December 1 - We have a third child who loves puzzles
like her big brother and sissy. She could do this for hours
(She's actually currently doing it while I type this blog).
December 2 - Went to one of the malls to pick up
something and of course we had to take a picture
of this christmas tree decorated with sausages!
We got a good laugh out of this!
December 3 - I got to go with a friend of mine to a Polish worship night and
enjoyed hearing praises being sung to our Savior in Polish!
December 4 - In preparation for St. Nick's
day here in Poland (on Dec. 6), the malls
around town will have fun activities for kids
to participate in. I happened to be meeting
with a friend and her daughter (so our girls
could play together) and we happened
upon this little fun event by accident. The
girls (pictured in middle) had fun taking
part in the fun activity.
December 5 - When we moved her, Olivia
was a baby and basically had no hair at all.
Then when it started to grow, it came in
curly. We always laugh because we had no
idea where the curls came from (until
recently we saw pictures of Jenny's mom
as a child-and was an exact image of Olivia).
But she sees mommy straighten her hair
on many days (since Jenny has a natural
wave-but not curly like hers) and so she
asked to have her hair straightened too
today. It was crazy to see how long her
hair actually is, it looks about 5 inches
longer being straight than it is when we
just leave it curly every day! As cute
as this is, we love her little curly head!
December 6 - At school on St. Nicholas Day
(Sw. Mikołaj) the kids get different surprises
brought to them and here are Karis and Isaac
showing there little gifts.
December 7 - One of many packages that arrived from
America from friends and family during the Christmas
season. We really can't tell you enough of how much it
means to us that you care for our family in this way!
December 8 - I told the kids we could not
decorate the Christmas tree until Grandma
arrived into town...but Isaac got a small
ornament from school and wanted to hang
it on the tree, so Steve is helping him find
the perfect spot for it.
