POLAND 365 :: WEEKS 35 & 36

September 2 - Off the school. We walk the kids to school
each day usually as it's just a 5 minute walk from our house.
Please notice Isaac's hands in the air...he was singing loudly
as we walked and is doing really well this year at school!
September 3 - Karis and mommy out for a Saturday morning
coffee and one on one time together. Karis has recently been
feeling sadness about going to school this year and we're
trying to make sure we get some one on one time with her.
September 4 - Sunday afternoon naps are
sometimes needed and we welcome any
opportunity we get to rest.
September 5 - Studying for our Polish driver's test!
September 6 - This is Aneta, she has become a friend of
ours and we are thankful for how she has not only invited
us into her home and her family's life but also how she
has been so kind to us as we continue to learn the many
new things about life in Poland. Aneta is a mother of
one of Karis' favorite classmates, so we get to see her
a lot and we like that. Since our kids are in school now,
we took time to have a one on one time drinking coffee
without kids while kids were at school today!
September 7 - At Karis' school, there is a small
room that has snacks and lunch items that kids
can purchase. At the end of the first week, we
let her buy a snack and she was so excited to
feel like one of the "big kids" at her school.
September 8 - While it was still fairly warm when school
started and still felt like summer, we took advantage of
the fact that we have a lake just 10 minute drive from our
home one afternoon when school got out and Steve was
working. Kids were thrilled and could have played there
for many hours if I let them!
September 9 - Helping a mommy friend out by watching her
handsome little guy so she could get a few things done around
her house. It's fun to snuggle little babies since our littles are
not so little anymore!
September 10 - Off to have dinner with some
friends and this girl is going in style, notice
her purse and superman shirt ;)
September 11 - Sunday after church we had
the joy of watching several people from the
International Church be baptized in the lake
near our home. Steve was honored to take
part in these baptisms and we praise God
for what he's doing in these people's lives!
September 12 - More studying for the driving
test. Steve is taking a practice exam on the
computer while Jenny reads the book to study.
September 13 - Jenny gets to be a part of a Tuesday night study of Ephesians
with these ladies (and some others not pictured). It has been a joy to learn
alongside these women.
September 14 - More study for the driving
exam. Jenny got really sick, Steve made
her some "comfort tea" to help settle her
cough while she studied. Being sick has
made it really difficult to study for this
exam. We hoped at least one of us will
pass the test!
September 15 - Ok, you're probably tired of
all these "studying for drivers test" posts,
but let's be honest, it's what took up a lot
of our time in these two weeks leading up
to our written exam. Today was the day we
took the written test...and only one of us
did pass the first time. Here we are waiting
for our exam to begin.
