POLAND 365 :: WEEKS 31 & 32

August 6 - Sometimes we have a hard time
sleeping and on occasion will find ourselves
surfing the web and we enjoy catching up
on what are friends are doing around the
world. We can't help but giggle at this meme
and please pass the XL coffee!
August 7 - Have we mentioned our amazing
neighbor who brings us treats? Haha, yes I think
we have. He is from Belgium and always brings
back the most tasty treats. This, my friends,
tasted much like the chocolate covered donuts
we used to eat as kids. Delish!
August 8 - I got this picture in a text from Steve that said,
"moving in Poland is different!" haha! He was helping some
friends move from one flat to the other and this is how they
transported the big items. And then carried up several flights
of stairs...quite the work out!
August 9 - This isn't the best picture, but meet
Roma. She is a blessing from God to me and
I'm excited that God brought her to Poland for
studies (and to be our friend!) Her and her
husband have already jumped in serving at PIC
and we are so thankful for their hearts of service.
Together, she and I will be facilitating a ladies
Bible study this Fall in her home and I look
forward to what the Lord has in store. Here we
are doing some study, prayer and conversation
to help push each other to love and know Jesus
better. I truly have a thankful heart for her!
August 10 - ONE YEAR, ONE YEAR, ONE YEAR! Today we celebrated the
one year anniversary of when we landed at PoznaƄ International Airport. It
has been quite the journey living in Poland and we thank God for sustaining
us thus far. He is faithful! More thoughts about living here at one year coming
soon in the next blog post!
August 11 - Isaac on our way to his best little
bud's birthday party. We are thankful for these
friends and glad that Isaac has a buddy his age
to run around and play with, and is in his class
at school. It has helped Isaac to have this friend
that he sees on a regular basis. We have missed
them over the summer and he's glad to be back
playing with him each day at class.
August 12 - Found this at a local import store
where we go every so often when we are in that
part of town (to buy taco seasoning and other
things that we can't buy in most of the common
grocery stores here). It's a store with things that
are imported from all over, and this particular
can caught our eyes and we had to snap a picture!
August 13 - When your two year old gets a hold of your phone
and starts snapping pictures. Little ballet toes and tutus, it's her
life right now and she loves to dance!
August 14 - Lunch after church with some friends.
The kids are much better riding on public transportation
and it's always easier when you have two extra people
to help with them as well!
August 15 - We were able to watch some of the
olympics on our tv before our stations started
acting up, so then we watched on our computer
in the evening when we had time. The kids loved
watching different things, swimming and gymnastics
being some of their favorites. It was fun to hear all
their questions and see them cheer on USA and Poland!
August 16 - This is an app we have on our phones
that helps us find our routes to and from places on
buses/trams. It has been a lifesaver many times as
we learn how to navigate around the city!
August 17 - Several packages arrived in the mail
this week for Karis' birthday from family and friends
and I had fun wrapping the gifts. We are truly thank-
ful for our thoughtful and caring friends from back
in the States.
August 18 - I'm calling it officially Fall now that
we can buy pumpkins and make soups because
the weather has been cooling off! How yummy
does this look? We made a delicious pumpkin
soup and pumpkin energy balls out of this one!
