July 23 - We often find our children sleeping in
odd positions...Isaac the most. I guess if you're
gonna move to the floor, take your blanket with
you to keep warm. Don't worry we moved him
back to the bed after taking this picture! |
 |
July 24 - Karis has taken an interest in learning
how to play the piano. She will often ask mommy
how to play something or she will listen to songs
and then come find us to play what she learned
by just listening to the song. She even creates her
own "music" to remember the notes that she heard
from the song (like pictured here). It's pretty cool
to see her get excited about music. |
 |
| July 25 - Steve had a kid date at the park today. |
 |
July 26 - View from a bridge where Steve runs. This is a favorite place of his
where he finds moments to clear his mind and connect with our Creator God. |
 |
July 27 - This is what happens when you let kids run
wild on a hot summer day, haha! |
JULY 28 - It was bound to happen at least one or two days this year that we didn't take a picture!
 |
July 29 - Date night in together. We don't always get out of
the house for dates, so when kids go to bed, we make a dessert
and enjoy fun conversation. Notice the light in the backyard,
summer time here the sun doesn't go down until around 10pm!
This was a new thing for us, but we are enjoying it while it's
here knowing that in the Fall, shorter days with light are coming! |
 |
July 30 - Summer Saturday meals in our home
have been fun and we've enjoyed the sides and
desserts that people bring, especially from their
home countries. One of the joys of serving in
an international church. |
 |
July 31 - During the summer, the kids have been
learning about the names of God at church and it
has been fun to see their excitement as they learn
more about this Great God! |
 |
August 1 - This little guy is Isaac's favorite buddy from his
class. They have missed each other this summer and we
finally had a time to get them together and play. |
 |
August 2 - I don't always drink Starbucks here,
but when I do it's usually because I miss America.
And no I'm not driving and taking selfies, this was
taken when traffic was at a standstill. Traffic here is
actually pretty obnoxious to me as I haven't lived
in a city where I've had to sit (not moving) in
traffic since our time of living in Dallas. This is why
most of the time we prefer to ride buses/trams most
places that we need to go. |
 |
August 3 - Karis had an opportunity to attend a summer dance
camp during the daytime for a week. She learned about dances
from different parts of the world. She continues to amaze us with
her increasing independence and boldness as we travel around the
city on public transportation and she can tell you the names of
stops from most bus routes that we take on a regular basis. |
 |
| August 4 - Afternoon traffic. |
 |
August 5 - Short dance recital at the end of Karis'
week of dance camp. |
