POLAND 365 :: WEEKS 27 & 28

July 8 - Steve at a discipleship training with other area pastors in Poznan.
July 9 - Roma (a new friend of ours) reading to the kids. As summer
winds down and a new wave of internationals enter town, we look
forward to all that God has in store for Poznan International Church.
July 10 - As Jenny taught children's class on Sunday morning,
she turns to hear Karis say, "my tooth fell out!" and not even
a minute later, one of the other kids in class had a tooth fall
out! Haha, it was a busy Sunday morning in kids class! This
is Karis' first tooth she has lost and was so proud to display
her one less tooth grin!
July 11 - On a night out near Stary Rynek here
in town, this is one of the streets leading up to
the main square. It's a beautiful part of town that
we enjoy going down to and every time I feel like
we notice something new we hadn't seen before.
This is for sure a favorite place of ours to go.
July 12-We had the grill out and thought it would be fun to make smores, and
since this week happened to be "American week" at one of our local grocery
stores, they had big marshmallows on sale and so we just had to do it, using
chocolates that a mission team had brought last Fall! It was delicious and the
kids enjoyed the messy goodness!
July 13-Just one of the many "lost in translation"
pictures we have taken. It sometimes gives us
a good laugh at how some things are translated
into English...do you spot it?
July 14-This week we had a few days of non
stop rain, even our Polish friends were saying
it wasn't so common. On our street (pictured
here) it was so much rain that it basically looked
like a little river out front. Here are the neighbors
and fire department trying to open the manholes
on our street so the water would drain quicker
and not cause any damage to houses.
July 15-So what do you do when it rains
for days, stickers of course! It is often hard
to entertain three kids, let alone antsy ones
who are stuck inside while it rains...but
sticker books are always a hit.
July 16 - Every Saturday during the Summer
we have opened our home to friends from
PIC and around the neighborhood for a BBQ.
It is a lot of work, but fun to see people come
together. Pictured here is clean up one night
after everyone left. We are thankful for a home
that allows us to host and help bring people
together.
July 17 - Here we are pictured with a short term mission team from the States
who came to help serve and learn about life in Poland. It was a joy to work
with this group of young people and we thank God for their servant hearts.
This was taken at the end our their busy week!
July 18-After a busy couple weeks, we had a family day and found a restaurant
with fish and chips and sounded delicious so that's the place we chose. The
fish came wrapped in The New York Times paper...and made us smile :)
July 19- We had a play date with one of Karis' classmates from
school and his brother and mom. We have enjoyed getting to
know this family and always good practice for our Polish!

July 20-Steve's work meeting with this great guy. He's a
joy to work with at PIC and we thank God for his friendship
as well...both he and his wife have become good friends
to us and it's been fun to see how God is using them in Poznan.

July 21-Discipleship meeting on the steps of the Poznan
opera house with this view, can't get much prettier than
this on a warm summer day! Taking advantage of the
warmer weather while it lasts.
July 22 - We still don't do well at regular date
nights, and working to find time to do that more.
But this particular evening we had the chance
to get away and finally use a gift certificate
someone gave us for our anniversary back in
March to a yummy restaurant in town. We
were thankful for some time together and
of course we had ice cream before dinner!
