POLAND 365 :: WEEKS 18 & 19

May 6 - Isaac's school was learning about Polish holidays
during the past several weeks and to our surprise, his teacher
asked us to come and speak to Isaac's class about America.
They thought it would be good for his friends in class to
hear more about where Isaac came from. It was such an
honor to be able to share and Isaac was thrilled (can't you
tell from his smile!). His two teachers are amazing, and
we love that they love on him (and all the others) so well.
May 7 - When you're walking in the store
and this blue word catches your eye! Well
hello Minnesota apparel in Poland, you
sure caught me off guard. Sad to say this
Minnesota-raised gal did not buy the shirt.
May 8 - We enjoyed a fun week with our friend James visiting us. James became
a quick friend to us when we first moved here and has since moved to another
city in Poland (before his return back to America). We are thankful for the time
we got to spend with him during his week back in town.
May 9 - Spring is here so we found a place
to buy flowers and planted several flower
pots for our back patio, the kids enjoyed
making a mess helping us plant them all.
May 10 - Our neighbor saw us outside this
evening putting together the bikes we bought
for the kids and came over to help. He is the
one our kids love going over to see (nearly
every day) and we are thankful for his
friendship with our family.
May 11 - Discipleship meetings can be very
tasty in European cafes...this will never get
old to me!
May 12 - A little late night reading to calm
the heart and renew the mind, much needed
when our days can get pretty busy.
May 13 - Karis goes through phases where
she is obsessed with certain things, the phase
doesn't usually last very long. Today's
obsession is brought to you by personalized
tattoo art, ha!
May 14 - Dinners on the back patio with people from all over the world. We
love our International Church friends!
May 15 - We began dating on May 15, 2007.
Today we got to go celebrate our "dating
anniversary" by getting some tea together,
unfortunately it didn't last long before I
was feeling sick and ended up back home
eating soup for dinner. We joked later that
this year, all special anniversary dates have
been filled with a sickness in some form or
the other. But it was a joy to sneak out for
even a short while and talk uninterrupted!
May 16 - That neighbor we mentioned above, well he's from Belgium and
he likes to bake. And since his wife doesn't like sweets, he brings us a portion
of what he will whip up that particular day. Today was waffles of course!
May 17 - Always an honor when our friends bring or cook
us dinner. On the menu, our South African friend made us
a curry meal. We really enjoyed the food but mostly enjoyed
his company and conversation.
May 18 - Some afternoons are just snuggle afternoons with
this third born. If you don't find her running around giggling,
you can find her asking you to "snuggle on the couch".
May 19 - On Thursday nights we enjoy having
friends over to talk about God's word and what
it means to be a disciple of Christ. We also
enjoy cookies. Literally. I made 5 dozen
cookies this evening, only thinking we would
eat about half but when the night finished
there was only one left! Thanks to all you
friends back in the States who sent chocolate
chips, they are greatly appreciated, by many!
