POLAND 365 :: WEEK 2

January 10 - On several days, I (Jenny) have the opportunity
to meet with other ladies I have met through Poznan International
Church (PIC) and their children. It's fun for Olivia to have some
special play dates and we got to hang our with her new friend
from Finland on this "winter wonderland" of a day!
January 11 - A family tradition we started was "movie
night" a while back and after this exciting game of yahtzee
the other night, we may be establishing a regular game
night in our home as well. Isaac even rolled a yahtzee-plays like
his mama if youask me ;) Also, when we get to see this
smile on him lately, we are very excited!
January 10 - Steve preached again this past week at PIC and
one thing they do during the services here is a children's time
where the pastor leads a children's devotion. It's always
fun to see how excited kids get when they hear and talk about Jesus.
Also, notice the worship team behind them, we have people leading us
in song each week that represent different countries from around
the world but who are living in Poznan at this time of their lives.
It's so exciting to think that God is saving people from
every tribe, tongue and nation!
January 11 - Steve spends many days in one on one discipleship meetings.
Isaac has needed some extra "huggles" lately from us and so he chose to curl
up in daddy's lap for this particular meeting. It's not always "distraction free"
to have your kids around for meetings like this, but it is a joy to know that
hopefully one day they, too, will know deep truths from God's word through
hearing their daddy teach others.
January 12 - Hudson on a Mission is an excellent book for any family considering
a move abroad who have small children. Our kids were given this book at our
commissioning ceremony back in Florida and we are so grateful for the insight
it offers and questions it generates with the kids. And it's a fun story that even
Olivia requests to hear over and over and over again. And don't mind my bed head!
January 13 - I have been focused on self discipline in all areas of my life the past
couple months and taking time to read the Word of God each day is no exception.
It can be challenging some days to make it a priority (I hear many Christians
say this) but even amidst toys on the floor, and other "things to be done" it's all
useless unless I take time to meet with The Creator of it all each day. I even saw
a post recently of a mom of young children (like myself) having her time with the
Lord with a small child in her lap. Oh so hard to focus maybe, but oh so valuable
and what a challenge it was to me to continue to press into the One who will
sustain me and provide all that I need in Christ. Taste and See people, He is Good!
January 14 - FaceTime. It's an amazing gift from God (at least we think so!)
Honestly, we feel honored that we are able to live in Poland in a time that
technology allows for us to communicate "face to face" with our family and
friends back in the States! This week we had a few extra FaceTime calls back
home as we had some sad littles who were missing anything familiar. Thank you
to the many who took time (even a few minutes) out of their day this week to
answer their phone when we called on FaceTime...it brightened all of our days!
