It's a New Year!

2015 has arrived. This is the year we have talked about for a while now, the year we have been telling people of when we will move to Poland (Lord willing!)

It is exciting, unknown and we are hopeful for what the Lord has in store.

This first week of 2015 has been exciting...I got another year older (yay 31, my "golden" year!), we reached our 50% goal of financial support (now on to 100%!), we got passport pictures for the kids and Steve (to renew his), bought our carry on luggage and Steve is officially done with his role of Director of Mobilization with Converge. And we're only a week into 2015!

In the midst of it all, I find myself seeing glimmers of hope in what could be deemed a busy time, I wanna soak it all in and take time to reflect. Just to highlight a few things...

*We reached 50% financial support-this was all the work of the Lord, absolutely no way we could have done this in our own strength. I mean we began the month of December at 33%...ended at 50%! Does anyone else think that's amazing? We certainly do and on New Year's Eve after checking my email and seeing email after email subject lines reading "you received a donation!", I couldn't help but lay in bed praising God for working in the hearts of those who felt led to give, even so late on the 31st, which in turn pushed us over the 50 mark. Reaching this goal gives us hope that God has and will continue to provide a way for us to go to Poland, for the sake of making His name famous.

*I see hope in the excitement my kids got in picking out their own luggage, so proud to call it their own and ready to embark on a journey across the world, where they will no doubt struggle. Struggle to make friends, learn a new language and to find their way as an MK. But the joy they experience in each new step (picking out luggage being the current one) is only a gift God could bestow in their little hearts.

*There was most definitely a glimmer of hope in getting successful passport pictures! I mean, I thought at one point we might have to leave Isaac stateside because of the goofy faces he kept shooting the camera man, oh that patient man, bless him! But praise the Lord, we got the pictures done, without any major fits...any parent can testify to that being a successful feat!

*At last, Steve finished up his role at the office and we are now able to fully focus on raising the remaining 50% of our financial support. I see this not as a loss, but as a launching point. We are cleared for take off, meaning our sole focus over the coming months is to get to 100%, attend our training and depart for the field in July. God is in our midst, working in our hearts as well as those who are giving and praying. It's so cool to have a felt row seat to watch all that God is doing right now.

The next six months will no doubt fly by, but we desire to soak it all in and continue to celebrate the goodness of our Savior.

A side note: many people have mentioned they have had trouble with the online giving link, we have again mentioned this to our organization and hopefully any glitches will be resolved. So if you have attempted to give online, try again, and if it still isn't working, please let us know! Thanks for your generosity.
