Meeting sissy

Karis and Isaac got to meet their baby sissy the evening she was born.  Since Olivia was born just after 4pm, my friend Cassi (who took care of them that day) brought them up to the hospital.  Funny story, when Cassi got the message that Olivia had arrived, she told Karis and Isaac and they told us that Karis ran around the room yelling something like, "MY BABY SISTER IS HERE!"  So cute! She was so excited to get up to the hospital. I don't have any real great pictures of that first sibling meeting and the one I do have of Karis, me and Olivia is a little blurry, but it works.  Isaac was very unsure of what was going on and stayed in daddy's arms, all while holding on to his baby doll.  He didn't want to get too close and I think was nervous as to why mommy was in a hospital gown and bed.  They didn't stay long since it was close to their bed time.  They went home for a good rest and came back the next morning to spend some time bonding with their new baby sister.  Isaac was a lot more interested this day. We were able to head home late that evening just in time for dinner that Jenny's mom had prepared.  It was good to be home.

It's a joy to watch the two older kids love on their little sister and we pray that their bond as siblings deepens over the years.  Thankful for these blessings.

Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor.
