365 : WEEK 35

8/27/13 - Isaac's half birthday...he's 18 months old today!
8/28/13 - These two LOVE to play with each other and it's always fun to here crazy amounts of giggling coming from the other room when they're together.  One of their favorite things to do right now, race cars {don't mind the appliance cord we have hanging out of the cabinet...sheesh!}

8/29/13 - Had our 12 week ultrasound today.  Was fun to see this little baby bouncing around on the screen as the sonographer took all sorts of measurements.  Karis had a blast seeing the baby too!

8/30/13 - Karis and Isaac had their 3 year and 18 month check ups on the same day. Karis loves the doctor, Isaac hates the doctor! Both kiddos are doing well and healthy. Thankful.
8/31/13 - We didn't have a big birthday party planned for Karis since Steve was out of town the week of her birthday {and because Jenny has been so sick to even think about planning anything big}. But she loves to party and so we knew we wanted to have a small celebration. So we had a small amount of family and close friends over for a fun time in the kiddie pools and slip 'n slide. It was really relaxing and of course we had princess cake. We found this swimsuit, perfectly timed for her princess party just days before for only $4.00...score!

9/1/13 - baby bump at 13 weeks. Fun fact about September 1st...this is the day Steve proposed to Jenny {just 6 short years ago!}

9/2/13 - This girl still falls asleep well in the car, but does not transfer to her bed and stay asleep, sigh. But she is pretty darn cute {and worn out after a fun playdate with friends}.

Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! I'm starting with this picture, because this little guy (left) pictured here with our son Isaac, I like to say is the reason we are having another baby, haha! Isaac has been smitten with this little one since he first held him as a baby two years ago and he began praying we would have another baby, specifically a boy! It's such a neat part of this story to me and I'm so thankful for our son's heart ( and friends who have cute kiddos!) This was taken right after we told the kids I was pregnant. Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor.
