Sleepovers and Family time!

As I said in our STAYcation blog post, Memorial day weekend would have it's own post. The end of our staycation concluded with a sleepover and fun afternoon spent with family. Our nieces, Charlotte and Eloise stayed the night on Sunday of that weekend. We took them home mid morning on Monday. Not that we didn't already have a great respect for Rob and Lauren, but we have a different, new found respect for them as they walk this new journey of life with infant twins along with their two toddlers. When Char and Elo stayed the night, there were plenty of night wakings with two added kiddos in the house and we can't even begin to imagine what that would be like for them paired with the twins waking multiple times to eat throughout the night! Whew! With that being said, shout out to anyone who wants to offer {free} assistance to them, I'm sure Rob and Lauren would gladly accept your help!  Haha! Here are a few fun pictures from their time at our house:

Feeding ducks. This picture really best describes what it was like out there. Charlotte screamed when the ducks would get close and run to be close by me. Eloise {and Karis} stayed close to uncle Steve for protection and Isaac was ready to take on the world {well the ducks I guess} and chased after them, which of course made the girls squeal all the more!

They did not sleep together {even though Karis cried when we told her they couldn't}, they got some fun morning snuggles and giggles in together as soon as they woke up!
Later that Monday we joined Rob, Lauren and the kids {along with a few other families}on Monday afternoon/evening for dinner and playtime in the water for the kiddos. We had a blast having Charlotte and Eloise over and Karis keeps asking when we'll do it again!  It was also fun to have a final day of relaxation before Steve had to head back to work and it's always fun to spend it with our family and friends. Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor. I had a long list of nesting projects I had been slowly working on and was hoping to finish before Milo’s arrival.  Thursday morning rolled around, I realized I was beginning to show signs of possible labor nearing, but still wasn’t too alarmed just yet, after all...
