Isaac is one year old! I admit I feel a little emotional...such a sweet little blessing he is to us.
His birthday started off with him sleeping in just past 7am {all you who know how early Karis rises, you know this is amazing}…Steve got up with Karis and let me sleep a little longer too!
Steve took the day off work and we spent the day low-key together as a family. We had a party Sunday following his birthday with our friends and family.
If you know me at all, you know I'm an idealist and very sentimental. His first birthday wasn't at all planned out like I wanted it to be and I was a bit bummed but I made the most of our UN-idealistic situations and we had a fantastic day as a family filled with many special moments. I had wanted him to wake up and open his gift from us...but due to all the sickness we have had around here in the past weeks, we didn't have his gift and it just didn't happen that way. So after his morning nap we all loaded up and went to buy his gift, ate lunch out together, then came home and kiddos napped. After they woke up, Isaac opened his presents from us and we had a small dinner together at the house. We spent a lot of time hugging and snuggling our little man who in return was not short on giving us many hugs, snuggles and kisses. We feel extremely blessed that he is our son, He has brought much joy to our lives!
In the week leading up to his first birthday it seemed like he was changing right before our eyes. He was saying words we had never heard him say, repeating us constantly and starting to take more steps in a row. On his actual birthday, he took 6 consecutive steps and it was fun to watch him get excited and giggle at his own accomplishment! {Since then, he has become more brave and walks about halfway across a room before sitting down to crawl} It's fun to watch him maneuver his toys, trying to figure out how to stack things, put lids on containers and attempt putting puzzle pieces into their correct spots. He is laid back for the most part and plays really well by himself {which is always helpful when sissy is wanting some extra undivided attention!}
Here's a glimpse of the last month before turning ONE!
