Feeding Ducks

We are blessed to have a beautiful pond behind our house and it's always fun to feed the ducks. However lately, we have not been able to feed the ducks, it's sad really because we go outside and shake our bag of snacks and they don't come, always leaving a disappointed two year old. So it was a bit of a surprise one morning last week when we were just finishing up breakfast and I see Isaac looking out the back window out at the pond, pointing and making quacking noises, and sure enough there were several ducks right on our back patio.  I took this opportunity to get the duck snacks out and Karis was very excited to feed them.  Isaac was confused as to why I was giving away "his" snacks to the ducks, but enjoyed seeing them out there none the less.  The fun lasted a while, and then a duck snatched a cracker right out of Karis' hand and that's when I snapped a picture that makes me laugh every time I see it {no she was not injured folks} but she was traumatized...next time you see her you should ask about feeding the ducks and she will tell you a very animated story of how the duck took the cracker and bit her hand, it's amusing to listen to her re-cap the events that take place throughout our day, with this event being no exception.

Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor.
