365 : Week FIVE

1/29/13-For just over a year now, we have gone to the Library for story time each Tuesday.  Here is Karis dancing to the songs during story time with her friend Hannah

1/30/13-Karis and Desmond playing at the park together during our weekly neighborhood playdates.  Karis and Desmond have been good buddies since he was born two months after her!

1/31/13-Enjoying some playtime with cousins Charlotte and Eloise as they snuggle up on Aunt Lala and the babies in her growing belly!
2/1/13-After five days of daddy being away for work, the kiddos were VERY HAPPY to have him home!
2/2/13-On any given day you will find Karis walking around with my camera taking pictures (more so since I've been doing daily pictures) and she will hold up the camera saying, "1, 2, 3 smile guys" and then look at the picture and say, "aww cute!"  It's really too funny!  Here we are on Saturday morning in our pjs as Karis takes our daily picture ;)

2/3/13-Grammy (aka. Jeannine, Steve's mom) came into town to help out my sister-in-law as she nears the end of her pregnancy with the twins.  We were blessed to spend all day Sunday with her.  Funny story about this, Karis doesn't realize sometimes that we have to share our favorite things {or people}, and today when cousin Charlotte walked up and said, "Hi Grammy", Karis responded by saying, "she's MY Grammy!"  Needless to say, Grammys time here in Florida is very precious and we were thankful to have some time with her before she headed over to help out those other Valentines!
 
2/4/13-Karis likes to sit up on the bar stools and talk to me while I wash dishes.  This morning she got up on the stool, looked at me with her sweet little grin and said, "so mommy, how are you this morning?"  So matter of factly and very adult like!  I often say, she's my little two year old going on twenty!

Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! I'm starting with this picture, because this little guy (left) pictured here with our son Isaac, I like to say is the reason we are having another baby, haha! Isaac has been smitten with this little one since he first held him as a baby two years ago and he began praying we would have another baby, specifically a boy! It's such a neat part of this story to me and I'm so thankful for our son's heart ( and friends who have cute kiddos!) This was taken right after we told the kids I was pregnant. Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor.
