365 : Week THREE

1/15/13-Quick outing to the grocery store...Karis always wants to stand on the scale they have located just inside the door (which I still have yet to figure out why a large scale is located there!)  If you can look closely enough you see she is 25 pounds, our little quarter pounder as we call her, and has been for a while now!

1/16/13-On Monday evening our air conditioner went out.  Two days later the part arrived to have it fixed.  We're thankful for our kind neighbor who had the skill and willingness to fix it for us!  Karis was cooling off in front of the fan...good thing it's only 80's in January here in FL!
1/17/13-Sorting and putting away Isaac's clothes he has outgrown.  While I packed it up, he pulled it out and Karis kept trying on items in the bag!

1/18/13-On Steve's day off, we took a trip to the Orlando Science Center.  Karis enjoyed playing at all the fun learning stations and Isaac enjoyed a snooze on mommy.  Here is our little family of four as we were about to leave.


1/19/13-After naps, we thought it would be fun to check out the little trail in our neighborhood (that we've wanted to walk on since we moved into our house three years ago).  Let's just say it was less than ideal because the path was overgrown and made for an adventure trying to maneuver the stroller through the woods!

1/20/13- Isaac's new favorite activity as of late is opening and closing doors.  Any door will do, but here he is playing with the door on the little Kangaroo Climber we have inside their playroom.
1/21/13- A perk of living in Orlando is when friends come to town to visit Disney, or just come for vacation in general.  We had the joy of having lunch with a friend I went to highschool with (Tim) and his beautiful wife and children.  We laughed because Tim and I don't keep in touch as much as his wife and I do (through Facebook world!)  We had a good visit with them and were so thankful it worked out to meet up with them while they vacation in Orlando! (pictured left to right: Steve, Karis, me, Isaac and then the Carlsness famliy: Cyress, Natalie, Hudson, Angie, Tim and Elijah)

Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor.
