365 : Week ONE

I plan to take at least one picture (or more) each day this year and post what we do around here in the Valentine house.  I know several people who have done this and I want to see if I can stick with it the entire year!  So here we go with the first week of January...enjoy!

JAN 1-As we finished up our trip in Minnesota, we spent a couple nights in a hotel where Isaac enjoyed climbing in our suitcase and playing with our clothes!


JAN 2- Karis enjoying the view of Lake Superior from the Duluth Aquarium.  Great view of the Lift Bridge and ice chunks floating in water.


JAN 3- Relaxing in First class on our flight home

JAN 4- Friday Movie Night!  Each week we watch a movie as a family and Karis decided this was a better way to watch the movie!

JAN 5- Isaac & Karis sporting their new Viking threads.  As Karis says, GO VIKINGS! Too bad they lost :/
JAN 6- Karis mastering her chopstick skills!  We  enjoyed trying sushi from Shiso Sushi (say that five times fast!), even both kiddos tried it!

JAN 7- Sneak Peek of our Valentine family photo shoot

    I love the sneak peek! Isaac looks as big as Karis!!

      yea he pretty much is as big as her ;) He almost weighs the same, just a little shorter than her! I'm sure befoer long people are going to be asking if they're twins!

Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor.
