Karis-Our TWO year old!

I often wished I had enough time each day (where I didn't feel tired) and could write for hours on end, especially about my precious children.  But reality with two small kiddos (both now on the move), life just doesn't allow for that right now.  And that's ok.  I like to post updates about my kiddos so that our family (who mostly live far away) can have a glimpse in the day in and day out of these precious babies they don't get to see so often.  Since trying to recap an entire year would demand more than one blog post for Karis, I decided that it would be fun to recap with pictures only.  Pictures that show a highlight from each month over the past year of her life.  Seeing that it's already November, I'm two months past when I wanted to post this, but better late than never, haha!

AUGUST-taken on her 1st birthday after her party

SEPTEMBER-Karis is into everything, and always VERY curious!

SEPTEMBER-fun family day at the beach

OCTOBER-Our cutie at the pumpkin patch in Celebration

OCTOBER-trip to TX

NOVEMBER-Thanksgiving in Atlanta

NOVEMBER-loves reading with daddy

DECEMBER-Christmas

DECEMBER-Valentine clan at Christmas

JANUARY-Could hardly find a picture from this month, this was
a rough month for both Karis and mommy, we were both really
sick for at least two weeks and part of that time was when daddy
was out of town traveling!  We survived and were very thankful
to have good friends who helped out especially while Steve was gone!

FEBRUARY-Just days before Isaac was born, Karis helped
daddy put together his crib.  She LOVES being a little helper!

FEBRUARY-Karis becomes a big sister!

KARIS-Isaac has been FULLY loved by his
sissy since day one.  Her she is planting a
big kiss on her brother the day he was born!

MARCH-Karis spent many days in her pjs
until noon (or later) during the first weeks
in March as we adjusted to life with two kiddos!
She also began to enjoy eating apples this way,
such a big girl!

MARCH-Karis enjoying walks with her brother.

APRIL-Karis was all smiles as we did a little
photo shoot with Isaac.

APRIL-Karis, Isaac & I enjoyed a whirlwind roadtrip
to Tallahassee with Aunty Amy-who had flown
down to Florida as her (and my brother's) journey
to parenthood began!

MAY-One of Karis' favorite things to do is
play with her cousins, this is from one such
afternoon of play.

MAY-Karis has always adored her daddy and
could easily be labeled as a daddy's girl.

JUNE-and thus began potty training, a little sooner than we had
anticipated, but she is a girl who determines to do things in her
own timing most of the time!  Steve called it "forced potty
training"...she forced us to potty train her!

JUNE-As she has gotten older, she really enjoys activities like
painting- playing with playdoh, coloring, sorting activities
and the like.  It's fun to watch her learn new things!

JULY-I LOVE this picture of her!  Here she is
walking in daddy's shoes (& socks!) She likes to
wear anyone's shoes, even if they're too small for
her she will try to put them on!
JULY-on our family vacation to Tenneessee
JULY-She enjoyed playing in the sprinkler
at Nana's & Papi's house in Atlanta.

AUGUST-two big events for August (other than
turning two of course)...the first was her first
"real" injury.  She fell out of a shopping cart and
not only got this nice shiner you see here (which is
the best looking picture of the injury that wouldn't
scare people!) but she fractured her face in two
places.  It was a pretty scary moment in her little
life thus for!  She has healed up just fine and no
lasting damage.  Due to the falling...she moved to
a big girl bed, so here she is helping daddy put together
her bed, she was so excited to help!

AUGUST-Karis on the morning of her 2nd birthday! She loves
eating fruit and that was her requested breakfast for her
birthday.  She is a little peanut (weighing in at 24 pounds).  On
the actual day of her birthday, we spent time around the house
playing with new presents and a small family dinner and cake!
She enjoyed being sung to (unlike her first birthday!) and dove
right into her "pink" cake!

AUGUST-We had her birthday party at the splash park and
invited several friends, she had a blast running around.  We
were excited because my dad (aka Papa) got to be here
to celebrate her birthday (and meet Isaac for the first time!)

The last two pictures, a comparison of Karis from 8/20/11 & 8/20/12

We had to laugh because in both pictures
she has a bruise somewhere on her face!
Hopefully this isn't becoming a trend!

Her long blonde hair is so beautiful!

We love this sweet girl and can't imagine life without her!  She challenges me to be a better mom every day.  She has a sweet spirit about her and constantly wants to include others or make sure everyone in the room knows everyone else.  She also has a spirit of servanthood already forming, it's the cutest thing to watch her look at Steve or myself and say, "daddy, you want some water...coffee?"  She just wants to serve and help out!  Her laugh and smiley face are contagious and make even the toughest days light hearted.  I thank God constantly for allowing us to be her parents, entrusting us to care for her!
