Precious Mom

My mom came into town and spent the past month with us humbly serving our family.  She came down for a few weeks when Karis was born and we were excited when she decided to make plans to do the same thing when Isaac was due to be born.  She was originally planning to come for three weeks, but because Isaac came a bit sooner than expected, how could a mother deny her daughter's plea to come earlier when she asks her at 4:30 in the morning post birth of her first grandson?!  So my mom flew in the day after Isaac was born and we picked her up at the airport on our way home from the hospital!  What a joy it was to have her here.  A mere thank you doesn't suffice, but I think she knows we are very grateful and I tried to tell her often during her time here.

A glimpse of what she did to help us around here...

snuggling Isaac for the first time after she arrived

more snuggles

She often rode cramped in the backseat between the two kiddos!

she took Karis on several walks so mommy could
sleep...Isaac and I joined her this particular time

she got a lot of snuggle time with Isaac

finishing up Isaac's quilt
She had plans to have the quilt finished before coming here, but since she came a week early, she had to finish it while she was here. It was fun to see her finalize her masterpiece for Isaac!

more snuggles while Karis jumped all around
at the indoor bounce house place

one of my favorite pictures of the three of them!

oh yes, she did lots of this!

feeding Isaac his first bottle at the library
while I sat with Karis during reading time

helping out with bathtime

burping the baby means tons of spit up...notice her burp cloth accessory!
She got spit up on often...she wore it well though ;)

out to eat one of her last nights here to thank her for being here
to help make our transition into a family of four a smoother one

last little bit of snuggles the night before she left to head home

Obviously, these pictures don't do the amount of stuff she did justice...but it's a glimpse of how she served our family.  Mom, I love you and could not have made it through this first month with two kiddos without your help and support!

COME BACK SOON!

Love, Jenny
