Updated Stats

Karis had her 15 month appointment a couple weeks ago and is growing like a weed (well her own little species of weed...but she's growing none the less)!  She is now 21 pounds and 30 1/2 inches making her in the 25th percentile for weight and 50th percentile for height.  Both of these are very good news for our little peanut.  The doctor was very impressed with her talking skills as well.  Karis said, "bye bye" as soon as the doctor walked into the room and said hi to her :)  it was very amusing because she kept saying "bye bye" to the doctor throughout the appointment, guess she's like her daddy and doesn't really like to go to the doctor!  For those who haven't spent time with her lately, she talks up a storm!  Most of the time you don't know what she's saying, but a lot of the time, she is speaking very clearly.  She has a lot of new words she's saying and will repeat most anything you ask her to try and say.  A few of my favorite words she's saying right now are "thank you" (which sounds like kan koo),  "show" (in her high pitch voice), "brother" (which sounds like bubba) and "Eloise" (which sounds like O-weez most of the time)!

Karis loves babies these days, which we are very thankful for as we anticipate the arrival of her baby brother.  She always wants to tickle them and give hugs and kisses.  We hope she loves Isaac as much as she does the babies she is around!  Another neat moment I had with Karis lately was when she pointed to my belly and said brother-I was so excited and think she's starting to realize the baby in mommy's belly is her brother.  She also started walking around sticking out her belly and Steve said, "I think she's trying to be like mommy"!  I have enjoyed  how she says thank you lately when you hand her something she wants.  Last thing I'll mention about her for now...when you ask her, "who made you?" she responds by saying, "God!"

Here are a few pictures of Karis on the day she turned 15 months...

Isaac is also growing!  I had my monthly OB checkup the day after Karis' appointment and he seems to be healthy.  His heart rate was 144 and my belly is measuring right where it should be at 25 cm.  He's still too small yet for the doctor to feel my belly and tell if he's still head down, but from where he had to place the dopplar to get the heart rate, doctor said it would seem Isaac is still head down.  So we keep praying that is the case and that my fluid levels stay right where they need to be until I go into labor.  I have been experiencing a lot of lower back pain lately and we're praying and hoping it subsides so I can continue on with my day to day tasks with as little pain as possible.  Having lower back pain greatly affects being able to take care of my daughter.  Our doctor recommended a maternity band to help support my growing belly and give my lower back the support it needs.  So basically, it's a support band that looks like a contruction worker's belt ;)

I also had my glucose test and should know the results at my next OB appointment.

That's all for now on the kiddos!
