26 Wonderful Years of Life

We have had a great few days celebrating Steve's 26 wonderful years of life. In fact, it's been more like a week long celebration. I like making a big deal about Steve even though that makes him feel like he's getting too much attention-he deserves it!

It all started last Friday, when I gave him his birthday present from me.  He had a scavenger hunt I had planned for him to find his gift. To my surprise, I actually stumpped him a few times and he really enjoyed the suspense! His present was going to a Shane & Shane concert that evening, but the day entailed much more than just a concert. I made Chicken Parm for lunch then headed off to Lakeland (about an hour from here). We thought it'd be fun to just putz around all day there...and that we did! We found an amazing place called Deli Delicacies and enjoyed some cake to celebrate his birthday-We would highly recommend this place if you're ok spending a pretty penny on some cake! Steve got a carrot cake cheesecake and I got a White Chocolate Rasberry cake, they were both so amazing! We also happened upon an old car show just before the concert started which was fun to look around. The concert was very worshipful. We are so thankful for the day we had on Friday and couldn't have asked for a better time with each other.  (Here are a few pics from that day)




Since Friday, Steve's gotten several cards from loving family and we've been able to spend some time with friends and family, which has added to the special-ness of the week. Not to mention, his mom and grandma will be in town later this week to visit and we will get to have a little "family celebration" while they are here.

So today, for Steve's actualy birth "day", I got up early to make him breakfast and help him get ready to get off to school on time and packed his dinner for work later today.

So to make his day extra special, I have written 26 Things I love about him.
1. He loves the Lord with all his Heart, Soul, Mind and Strength
2. He really likes to learn (especially about things of the Lord)
3. He always knows how to make me laugh
4. He has such a tender heart and cares so much for people
5. He desires to be more Christ-like each day
6. He is a caring husband
7. He loves me…even when I’m hard to love
8. He is everything and more than I could have asked for in a spouse
9. He is sensitive to the needs of others
10. He is a great listener
11. He is wise and knows when to say things and when to hold back
12. He challenges me
13. He pursues what God calls him to-he is obedient to the Lord
14. He leads our household well
15. He is patient
16. He keeps things in perspective
17. He has a heart for telling others about Christ
18. His character is outstanding
19. He is faithful to keep his promises
20. He is encouraging to be around
21. He makes an impact in all he does
22. He is intentional
23. He is so smart
24. He would give you the shirt off his back (and has done so many times)
25. He sees everyone as equal
26. His hope is in the Lord

Adding to the Family!

Sitting down to write this blog post has been a long time coming (well at least 20 weeks or so!) But we are excited to announce that we are expecting our fourth child! Below, you will see some pictures highlighting parts of this pregnancy so far and also I talk about the name we have chosen for our little guy. Enjoy! Dear Grandma...

Today is my grandmother's birthday. This is a big deal. Today she celebrates 93 full and amazing years here on earth. My grandma is a special lady (more on that in a minute) and the only grandparent I ever knew (long story for another time). I often think it's amazing that my kids get to know all four of their grandparents, and we cherish the moments when we are all together. The past couple of years have been a bit up and down for my grandma in regard to her health and honestly I hate being across the world during this time and also a bit envious when my brothers and cousins get to visit her when they are able (so all y'all give her a hug when you see her next for me!) It's never easy being apart from family, but especially when one is ill. So I write, because it's what I can do...no she's not going to be on Facebook reading the link to our blog, but I know my mom will gladly call her and read this to her. Surprise Arrival!

This is a long post. But many of you have asked about the story of Milo's arrival. So I wanted to take time to write it out, details and all. But  for those who don't want to read the entire story with all the details, feel free to scroll through and just look at the pictures! A lot of you were shocked to hear of his arrival...so were we! (After all, we were still 25 days out from his due date when he made his appearance). I had just gone to my 36 week checkup two days prior, all was healthy and well with baby and with me and there were no signs of early labor. At that appointment, the doctor said that I was 1 cm dilated, but honesty I knew I could be at that for several weeks before seeing any progress to labor. I had a long list of nesting projects I had been slowly working on and was hoping to finish before Milo’s arrival.  Thursday morning rolled around, I realized I was beginning to show signs of possible labor nearing, but still wasn’t too alarmed just yet, after all...
